I haven't used these myself yet... I don't even have the a-spec kit.. lol I just bought these for that 'one day' after I wrap my roof spoiler in CF.

Aspec Lip Caulk

Dave, is that line (seam) going around the top the caulk, or is it just the reflection of the flash?
Yup, it's the reflection off the caulk. The stuff dries black and nice and shiny like the paint. It blends very well. White silicone would do the same for white cars. It doesn't matter if it's exterior house caulk or automotive caulk. If it's 100% silicone it's good to go. Clear would work well with other colors, but black and white cars will benefit with the cleanest look. Apply a decent bead around the lip. Wipe along the seam with a wet finger to force the caulk into the gap. Then take some PrepSol or mineral spirits and wipe off the excess, and get a nice smooth bead with a microfiber cloth. Be sure to let it cure for 24 hours before exposing it to rain or moisture.

Glad I found this post but I have a question. I guess my only issue might be pulling the lip forward. You say you can just have a friend pull it forward while you weasel yourself to fit the tape in but do you think it will fk up the bolts that have it tied down or is it flexible enough to not? I tried to pull the front lip back from the bumper a little bit but couldn't do it so couldn't fit the tape in there and I was afraid to pull harder.

Take both of them off, clean off with rubbing alcohol and then apply new strips.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but am installing my front aspec lip kit and am having a bitch of a time getting the original double sided tape off the lip in order to start clean and lay down new 3M double sided tape (per the instructions in this thread). I've tried a razor blade, rubbing alcohol, and goo-gone. Anyone have ideas? Is it absolutely necessary to remove all the old tape and residue also? Thanks for your help.

Heat. Hit it with a blow dryer or heat gun on low setting.
