First TL to break 12's?

Well, thats my goal. With the new clutch (Clutchmasters Stage 3 with LW Flywheel) and Innovative mounts along with some drag radials I think 12.90s are possible. What you guys think?

the following things, aren't going to help:
-19x8.5 Axis Hiros
-JL 12w3v3s/ JL 500/1v2

i think to break into the 12s, you'll need to get lighter, 17" wheels;
then dump the audio stuff, and rear seats

even after that, i think you'd he a little over the 13 mark.

You know that I am only trying to help (I am not trying to be rude).... From the "writing on the wall", I see a snapped axle in your future. The TL has weak axles. IM stiff mounts, HD clutch, sticky tires, and you are just one "popping the clutch" away from broken axles. Just trying to spare you some grief - the "writing is on the wall".

i kind of agree.. but for one main reason only....

the TL has ok fwd components (axles, cv, bearings etc...) but it cant handle too much power.... my $$ says he can probably pull more than 340whp with those pre-cats install... which is the fastest TL... ever.... put a tiny little can of juice (which i dont really recommend) and he can EASILY dyno 400whp on the bottle...

upgraded components are just one more thing, that we cant buy, for these cars.... a GB would be cool for upgraded axles and shit, but, not enough 3G owners have that kind WHp

OK FIRST OFF... 19" DRAG RADIAL

leave the 19" in the back... get a pair of 17" rpf1 17x9 with 255/45-17 slicks (the non street legal kind )....

this would run you about $600 instead of spending $1250 on drag radials in 245/35-19 <-

as for quick diet... empty your pockets

no seriously take out the music, the stuff in the trunk, owners manual which I can bet you have in the glove box...

you should break the 12 mark... I don't see why not if you can stick the tires to the ground.... I've seen your launches pre-s/c and they looked pretty good... no idea how your reaction time is and your 60' but I do beleive you could verywheel do it...

First make sure your new clutch is broken in. Second I think if you ride the clutch out instead of dumping it your axles will be fine. Take out the spare, jack, back seat, etc... will make it easier on your car during the launch. Don't hit the rev limiter but take it right to it. With over 300hp whp you will need to shift well and my guess is to shoot for a 2.0 60'. 12's are no joke. You will probably notice your mph won't go up much as you get there faster. I would say 12.95 at 109 with a good launch if you already ran a 13.6 at 106 with a slipping clutch. I think .1 in the 60 is usually good for about .2's on your et. Good luck.

Car needs to be put on a serioud diet, and as stated above, I think the axles will break.

dude i was kidding by the 19" drag radial..i have a set of 245/45/17 BFG Drag radials on 17lb wheels...the purpose of the mounts was to prevent wheel hop which can cause an axle to break...i know how to drive at the track..i drove my car to a 13.9 on street tires with just an intake...now i have 100 more whp and some sticky tires

If any TL is going to do defeat the clock, its gonna be yours. Your TL is quick! If you're going to head to the track solo, take out the passenger side seat to make the car 60lbs lighter. The rear seat back and bottom should total around 40lbs i think.

Definitely run 17s with sticky rubber.

Wait until it's 60 degrees or colder.

Do the ice on the blower tactic.

When did you run the 13.6? Was that pre or post S/C? That's amazing if you trapped 104 while still N/A.

That makes sense, because if you were 13.90-14.00 with the intake, you were likely 13.70's with the rest of your bolt ons.

When did the clutch start to go? What's your mileage?

You can do it. You got enough power to back it up.

POWERSHIFT that bitch!

the clutch is fine for everyday driving and it appears to have life...the clamping force isnt enough to hold the power
