first time TL owner, how'd I do on my purchase?

Guys, I wanted to come in and join the TL group! I recently sold my 04 Grand Cherokee daily driver due to a whopping 14 mpg. I was considering a Pontiac G8 GT and the Lexus IS350 initially, but both seemed like quite a bit of $$$ for me to justify spending on a daily driver.

Long story short, I drove a 2007 TL and fell in love, which is hard for me since I've owned nothing but American muscle before this..... (93 Cobra, 95 Impala SS, 02 Z28, 86 Grand National) Being an insurance and investment consultant, my clients probably didn't take me seriously when I arrived in my Z28 with all kinds of mods, stupidly loud, and basically in kill mode all the time.

I ended up with a 2007 TL with NAV, 21,900 miles, silver on black interior. I paid $22,500 and will have to put 2 tires on the front because of a bulge in the dr. front sidewall. It is a one-owner car and had all service records to date.

The down side is I know the front bumper has been resprayed, as it feels different than the rest of the car, but I could find no other signs of damage and the dealer's carfax was clean.

Overall, I think I will be really happy with the fuel mileage, room, luxury, and hopefully reliability. I'm super impressed with the voice commands, seats, and love the HID's. My downfall is going to be learning the NAV system.....

I think that's a decent deal, but I'm no expert. Good stable though!

not too bad of a deal. I got my 06 tl without navi 6 spd 30,000 miles about a year ago for 18,000. Dealers usually always re-spray the front bumper to hide the rock chips and other imperfections all front bumpers get when you get some driving time on the car. So no worries about the front bumper bro! Have fun!!!

I was actually at their dealership two weeks ago, about to buy the black one that they still have. They didn't want to budge on the price though, so I ended finding another TL, which is the 05 w/ Navi I bought.

But the TL you got a is great deal. How much you end up paying OTD?

I'm going to try to keep the mods simple and cheap for now (Type S tails and rear side markers, paint the grille, window tint) Although I think eventually I'd like a Type S rear bumper/exhaust and maybe some wheels.

Are there any mods that typically increase fuel economy?

cold air intake, better flowin exhaust... a good CAI and exhaust gives you about 10% more hp (not always tho). and so, if you drive the same and dont get power hungry with the new ponies, your car doesnt need to work as hard.

plus tons of stickers, spoilers, and lights haha. ok just kidding.

you are gonna have a LOT of fun modding. let the games begin
