My 06TL had hit the 5k mark today, but oil life is still at 30%, is this normal? Usually about how many miles should I expect before my first service?

 

From what I've read, the MID makes calculations based on your driving style.

Mine was like that too. I just decided to get an oil change near 6000 miles when the mid said <20%. The mid will alert once it hits < 15%, so its your call. Go by MID or go by miles.

 

Depends on your driving conditions, but most people here have been going 5500-7000 miles prior to receiving the Service Due Soon messge @ <15%.
