05 TL 6MT/Navi, removed intake resonator and exhaust mid-muffler.

VSA off, 35* out, raced an older gentleman in an anthracite 2-03 CL-S auto. First race he was behind me at the light, I believe I caught him off guard, but I waxed him, so Ill give him the benefit of the doubt.

Second race, light turns green, beat him by about 2 lenghts to 90.

3rd race, I had a crappy launch, even through 2nd, started pulling on him in 3rd, let off at about 90 again, 1 car ahead of him!

I think it was a pretty good race, and had he been a 6MT as well, might have been closer!

Oh well, just though I would share that....i've had the TL since september but havent had a REAL race with it yet. Nice to finally put the car into perspective with something other than my old 03 TL and my 02 S2000.

I dont know.....The S2 was definitely faster, but Im not sure by how much. The TL would get the jump just because of torque, but shift points are failry similar to the S2. First in my S2 got me to about 42, second to 61, third to 91, fourth to about 115. The S2 had a wicked third gear though, so it would definitely start catching up twoards the end of second. It would really be a drivers race. The TL has the torque advantage, but the S2 has the high end/high redline advantage. On the freeway, it would probably be a close race as well, with the S2 slightly ahead.

keep in mind, my S2 was not stock for the last two years of ownership, so I dont remember how it was without the mods.
