2 years ago they stole my rims & tires, I now have wheel locks but honestly it won't do anything to stop them should they try & steal them again. Now I've read several posts here at this site about TL emblems being stolen right off cars & now a A-spec spoiler kit! I love my 07' TLS with has the same spoiler kit on it but quite honestly I'm getting rid of it the first chance I have & buying a older civic, these thieves jack yer shit & get away with it. How many wheels & tires must be stolen? Acura doesn't care either, they're making tons of $$ selling new ones. I can't even drive the car anywhere without having to worry about theft. So, most of the time its at home. Now spoiler kits being stolen?! Freakin' unreal.

 

economy is bad more theft will happen ... wouldnt sell my tl over it, thats what insurance is for

They shouldn't unless the wheels were stolen while you were at home in which case the insurance company can increase the premium stating the area where your vehicle is parked is a high theft area.

It sucks, move to a better location, park your vehicle indoors as much as possible. Park your vehicle where there is a lot of foot traffic if you are parking in malls and even at work.

 

Stupidest thing I have ever read in a while.

 

My friend is a cop and said: "MV theft is a low priority with departments. Stealing the cars, suvs etc there's not much investigation work, we figure that's why there's insurance to pay for it" Plus, first time offenders get a slap on the wrist if caught. They have to be caught IN THE ACT or with actual custody of stolen parts. Otherwise its just an accusation they stole it. And here's the other thing, if they stop a vehicle that has a set of wheels & tires in the back seat it's hard to prove they were stolen. Stolen auto parts etc is a BIG business, WHY? Because they get away with it.

Insurance Investigator for 26 years. I've had enough, had enough of jersey too. Willowbrook mall is now the #1 location for car theft in NJ. I guess it boils down to where we live.
