I've had my02 TL-S about a year and I have not had the chance to "run" anyone at ALL! Partially it's because I live in the great city of Chicago and there's barely enough room to get your car up to even 45mph safely on most roads (potholes, people, traffic, etc) so I don't really LOOK for races cause it's just a waste of time...I have Injen CAI, but never really get to open her up, cept for on the highways.

With that being said - the other night around 12:30am I was driving home heading up Ashland Ave (which is a pretty busy 2 lane both ways street w/ center median) and some A$$hole in a new Altima (had the dual exhaust) goes flying past me in the right lane doing like 55-60mph at least! He cut me off like he was all pissed about something and got to the light in front of me...

My debadged trunk must have set him off! lol...

I was just cruising the speed limit (30mph), but of course, I caught his impatient ass at a light and switched into the other lane. I wasn't even going race this douchebag (like usual) but he starts revving and trying to look all cool. No traffic though so I threw it in SS (VSA off) just incase, but I didn't even rev back at him. Then he just PEELS OUT (like I thought he would) at the green and guns it, so I said screw it and punched it.
Let me tell you I passed this ass-clown so fast he didn't know what happened and I cut it off about 45-50mph by 2 car lengths easy. Needless to say, he did a ricer fly by probably around 65-70, SLAMMED on his brakes at the red light, and cuts me off again lol
I just turned, went home smiling. And that's the end of the story. Sorry, it was kinda long...
Anyways, it was my first race ever and I guess I won - just thought I'd share w/ you guys. Thanks for reading.

 

Hooray! Altimas are overrated.

 

All Altimas think they're fast. I don't get it. Especially when they throw 19's on them...which makes it soooooo much faster! LOL

 

the new altima V6's are fast. 270HP stock with a 6MT they are very fast.

 

all new altimas have dual exhaust too... (including the 4 cylinder) way to put him in place though haha... the v6 altimas are fast though..like sbuswell said

 

I think that might was a 4cyl. The Newer Altima v6 are quick off the line but top End they are GAY. Im saying that because my friends has a new Altima V6 3.6SL. He Pull on me over the Dig and Once its about 2 Carlengths it maintains there and over 120, i did closed that gap.

 

see you got the s60r..those are pretty quick from a dead stop and handle pretty good..we have 4 on our lot....2 6mts..1 auto..and 1 V70R!..station wagon with some balls!...but yeah after first they dont pull that hard..sweet car tho

 

my bro in law has an 02 Altima 3.5 SE 5MT and that thng flys...too bad every year after that is slower for some strange reason...i thnk he may have a factory freak...but dont let one catch u slippin, there are no slouch in MT form

 

Yea, musta been a 4-banger I raced cause I passed this guy like he was standing still, and I could totally hear his engine straining for power as he was flooring it...
My dad has a 4 banger Altima from a few years ago, nothing special, single exhaust and all, but I'm pretty sure the one I raced had the duals - I could be wrong.
I heard those new coupes are real nice...probably woulda kicked my ass if that had been the case.
