First Acura!

Hey guys, my brother had a TL for many years and when I was looking for a sporty sedan for myself I narrowed it down to the TL also - I bought a 2008 base TL today. It has 97K so I have the timing belt service scheduled ($700 parts/labor), I plan on doing a ATF fluid change and replacing the passenger side leather seat bottom. I'll be sure to post any pics and info I think will be helpful. It's in great shape and I plan to keep it for a few years, love the performance and handling!

Congrats on the purchase! You still have approximately 8,000 miles until the timing belt service is due. Basically all im saying is that for some people that could be an entire year. Just don't bust your wallet or schedule to get it done is all im saying. Enjoy the car!

Thanks for the warm welcome, this car appears to have been mechanically taken care of since she kept all the receipts. New tires, brakes, oil and 4 wheel alignment in june/2014 but she sure was not obsessed with looks. The interior needs a good cleaning, the long nails have removed the finish on frequently touched things (including behind the exterior door handles), the passenger seat needs to be repaired in the bottom/center area, a small dent in the rear door on passenger side, the right fog lamp was broken and the front bumper area has numerous scratches (I am thinking from constant misjudging of parking heights and distance). I also think she had kids. I'll post some pics for a before and after comparison, I intend to fix everything and make it whole again, it does ride and shift perfect (most important!)

I was amazed at how well the cheap o little tub of turtle wax made all those under handle scratches disappear. 15-20 seconds on each handle with a soft t-shirt. Not exaggerating.

It was the only are of the car that was not "like new shiney" when I bought my 07 TL.

I have a tub of the Turtle wax with scratch removal properties, I'll be giving it a go next chance I get to spend quality time with the TL. I have also found this was/polish works well on clearing up headlight lenses.

I'm going to buy one Acura TL (2005), I want to know if this model comes with single xenon or bixenon headlights?

You sure about that? I have only owned 07/08 TL's so I cant speak from experience on the older 3G's, but I was under the impression ALL 3G TL's are equipped with Bi-Xenon headlights.

I have an 07 that is bi-xenon, and I also thought all 3g's were the same.
