Finally found a Type-S, what's it worth?

Hello, I have been looking for a clean type s for quite some time. The two previous ones I had looked at were ROUGH! My local Acura dealer just took in a 2007 in NBM with 75,000 miles. It had been rear-ended and listed as functional damage to the right-rear. The car is VERY clean, with no dents nor scratches, additionally the drivers bolster is in great shape and the arm-rest isn't sagging much if at all. It does need new tires and the only other things I noticed was that the left taillight did not sit completely flush (looked pushed in a couple of mm) and where the bumper meets the fender you can feel where they had removed the tape after re-spraying the bumper. Overall the car looks amazing, and has been a local car owned by older adults. What do you guys think I should offer. I am looking to get the BEST deal possible. I was also thinking of bringing in other examples of Type-s's online with similar mileage that are asking less than what they have it listed for.

I called and they are going to list it at 19,900 which is obviously high. I was thinking about making a low-ball offer of 16,500-17,000.

TLDR: What is this car worth that has functional damage on the car fax, that has been repaired 'almost' perfectly.

Ha, small world. I was just looking at the listing for that car this weekend.

I know a TL-S in the area with 90k-ish miles and a clean CarFax sold for $16,500 at the most last week. It wasn't the cleanest car in the world, but the price was right. If they'll get down to $17k it's probably not a horrible deal for a car with an accident. I'd still have it looked over by an independent shop and see if there's any obvious (or not so obvious) damage that wasn't repaired.

Just curious, what other two TL-Ses did you look at? I might have seen the same ones.

I would think 17k would be a fair price, given the miles and history. It could have aftermarket parts, which might explain the taillight. Do you know if Acura did the repair work? If you want the best deal possible, you'll have to make some compromises. The dealer usually doesn't have the best prices, but they do have higher standards. Personally, I would steer clear of a used car dealer.

^some dont have high standards.
A CPO car doesnt really mean squat!

and it should be the customer to have the car pre-inspected before buying to make sure he knows what's going on with the car.

Justnspace pretty much hit the nail on the head here.

He and others here gave me the same sage advice when I posted here asking same question. I took their advice, and after about a month of looking(and retard strength patience and self control), I found a 07 TL-s with 58,000 miles for $19,900.

I would say wait until you find something with no accidents and lower miles, but thats just me, and im picky like that. Don't settle on color either! Go for the best possible color, White diamond pearl of course Good luck!

No way - that is too much for a wrecked car. I have a 2008 Type S WDP, excellent interior, etc. with 47k miles that I had a dealer in KC bid to buy a few weeks ago. Judging by the price they offered me (I walked away) I bet they have 15k in the car.
