I've raced a 6mt g35 when I was stock with just mufflers, we both had 2 people in our cars and he beat me by a car and a fender. With intake my front bumper is at my friends door in his 6mt 350z and I know z's are faster/lighter.

Good Kill !!! Yeah G 35 are usally a good race for CL's and TL's, especially if you have mods.
I have raced a few. Automatics arent that great but, the 6 speed ones are pretty quick !!!!

The Acura isn't remotely in the same league performance-wise. It may be "close" from a dead stop to 50 MPH or so, since that is largely traction limited. After that the LS1 is simply going to walk away from the TL.
LS1 F bodies put 300+ HP TO THE WHEELS in bone stock form and are lighter than any TL. A typical, bone stock 1/4 mile was 13.5 @ 105 MPH. The computer limited top end to "just" 158 MPH. Some people saw low 13s @ 107+ MPH right out of the box.
There is no rational reason why a TL could be faster than a well driven LS1 F body. A host of data exists to prove that beyond any reasonable doubt. Just because you "beat" a car doesn't mean the other driver was trying and/or knows how to drive.

Here is the slowest LS1 F body ever offered. It's a convertible (~ 200 pounds heavier than the coupes, has a power sapping automatic and the standard (vs. performance) axle ratio.
It ran a 13.8 @ 104 MPH, did 0 - 120 MPH in 19.3 seconds and topped out at an electronically limited 158 MPH.
A 6 speed TL-S isn't going to touch that.
And like I said, that's a "SLOW" LS1 due to the reasons I cited above.

Here's one of the "real" LS1s. It ran a 13.15 @ 108 MPH and did 0 - 60 MPH in under 5 seconds.

Do you honestly believe that your little V6 is going to touch a PROPERLY DRIVEN example such as that?

Here's an '03 G35 coupe with a 5AT fitted with an aftermarket intake and exhaust. It managed a 14.24 @ 97.5 MPH.

That's still slow by bone stock LS1 standards.
Is his G35 stock? If not, how many mods does it have?
This LS1 F-body was bone stock and it managed a 13.15 @ 108 MPH...

This is the heaviest (convertible) and worst case (4 speed auto with a 2.73 axle ratio) LS1 F-body, yet it would still walk all over his G35 with a 13.8 @ 104 MPH:

well, from what Dave B said, his G35 is stock. I am sure you two will have a good argument about this, I am not a big G35 by the way...so don't worry, I am on your side on this. You should show those facts to Dave B instead.

Either way, his car isn't competitive with any LS1 F body that is running properly and is even remotely well driven.
My LS1 Camaro was in a completely different league (performance-wise) than my '07 TL Type S. The Acura is a much "nicer" car, but the Camaro would have simply eaten it alive...not even close.

His mods are springs (for dropping the car by like an inch), 350z intake pipe (which he claims to have no performance gain, argue with him about this if you want to), removed power duct cover on airbox (does that help performance?), and other cosmetic mods such as tint, painted grille, etc. Also, he has the aero package, which lowers the cd by like 0.01, probably that would help his trap speed a tiny bit? Besides, when he goes to the track, I believe he removes the spare tire, only carries 1/4 tank of gas, tires properly inflated, etc. For more details you have to ask Dave B himself.
By the way, he said he could beat those F bodies because of his skills rather than the performance of his car.

You floor it when the light turns green and the car does the rest.
Aren't you the same guy who told me that a Civic R "will beat an NSX on a track" over on another thread?
In case you missed it on that thread, here are the numbers for an NSX.
http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Media/ma...s/cd0799-c.jpg
And it you read the full article, you'll note that particular car was actually a tad SLOWER than other NSXs they tested:

Seriously just because the numbers favor car A over car B, dosen't mean car A will always win. They're too many factors in racing that can give one car an advantage over another..... But Dave' Bs G35 taking Evo's....
