Driving to san Jose after work on 880 when this black G35 coupe wants to play. We're going about 70 and he jumps a car length ahead but I slowly pass him at 110 and slow down at 120....He keeps going but slows down( don't think he knew I cut if off) We slow down to 60 and do it again......SAME RESULTS! He'd get the jump but I gain on him at about 90-100 and pass and stay ahead of him past 110..... Scary moment.... just before stevens creek blvd in the fast lane there's this little jump(Like a small hill) that almost made me loose control! I was doing around 130(Never again am I goin' that fast). The only other time I've raced a g35 was 2 days after I got my car. I was stock and this guy was modded as hell w/ a 6MT. Talk about being killed. (I think I kept it on D5 )

Seriously though, keep the racing on the strip. 130mph on the street? Is it really worth killing someone and going to jail for 2nd degree murder?

Yeah I think that's the fastest I've ever gone......... I can't believe people actually hit the rev. limiter! Even a small dip in the road could make you lose control.... Yeah but I have to say G35 are pretty damn quick...

 

damnn..i never played with a g35 before. those things are monster especially the 6mt. they are no match for my TL. they will smoke me

 

6mt isn't much faster than 5AT G35 according to our G35 man, Dave B.

ya im from SF. are you talking about a sedan or coupe here..a coupe 6mt runs 0-60 in mid 5s just stock so they are just as fast as the new TL-S. there no way a second gen TL would burn a 3rd gen TL-S 6mt with just basic bolts on. unless supercharged..diff story

 

don't know if it was a 6mt or if it had any mods........ I don't know about a 2nd gen type s not being able to beat a stock 3rd gen Type s......... esp. if you got headers & intake

 

I want to race u.Ill put 87 octane on my car and ill put the backseat to make it even.

 

a stock 6mt g35 coupe runs 1/4 in low 14s. a TL-S run 1/4 in high 14s. i dont think some basic bolt ons will cut it..not saying its impossible..maybe a bad driver..

Well who's to say it was a 6mt? I've beaten an accord v6 6mt(intake/exhaust) and an altima SE-R 6mt(stock) so It's not impossible.... and I do have all the major bolt ons... Have faith in the T.L!

 

I went to the last one near pismo beach( I think).... I'm going out of town this weekend but I'm there on the next one...... Did you go? We had a blast racing down 101!

yea sorry i edited after ur post. ive raced a 06 G coupe auto with aem cai pulled hard on him right off the line. i raced a G sedan with intake and exhaust on the hwy and pulled on him from anywhere on the powerband. I raced him over and over again for a good 20 miles lol. hes prolly on the G boards it was a white one from NY if i remember correctly.

 

Yeah I think our cars our evenly matched so that's good to know.......

 

The TL like yours is fast but it seems like it would be hard to believe that you beat a AV6 6MT with I/E and a stock Altima SE-R 6MT. A couple guys with that AV6 6MT with I/E have run 13.9@101MPH on stock tires. A Altima SE-R 6MT have hit 14.2-14.3@99MPH stock so your car would have to be running high 13's which its not to take out those cars. They probobly couldn't drive would be my guess. With I/H/E your car would be in the lower to mid 14's with traps in the high 90's.

 

LOL why does everyone have an excuse for everything. the fact is not everyone on the road is a pro driver. u find me a pro driver and ill run him. i dont really care what people trap and their 1/4 mile times, the fact of the matter is at that time and place i beat a 6MT SER. hence why they call it a drivers race. if I ever run into a pro driver with a SER ill make sure to post a vid of the outcome.

 

It's my co worker who has the 06 Accord 6mt and he DOES know how to drive.... .. I don't rely on stats alone. Sometimes you gotta just run against them and see how you fare. I take really good care of my car (seafoam/oil changes/ valve adj. etc) and maybe they didn't. There's millions of possibilities that could have happened not just the other car being a bad driver.........

 

I've beaten quite a few LS1/LT1 F-Bodies, EVOs, modded WRXs, 99+ Mustang GTs, SRT4s, 350Zs, and a handful of other faster cars at the track. It's fun to beat a fast car with a crappy driver, but I'd still rather have a faster car.

I believe you raced him. It just seems hard to believe that you beat a 06 Accord 6MT with I/E that knows how to drive based on the stats of the car. Good kill against him! I know that in a drivers race anything can happen. After all its not the track.

 

It is not an excuse. It just didn't seem that logical but it was on the street and anything can happen on the street. I have beat a few faster cars than my car on the street. I just attribute it to them not being able to drive it at full potential or they didn't take care of the car as well as I take care of mine. Post a vid.....I would love to see it.

 

Not everyone with a 6MT Accord pulls 13.9 @ 101 mph. Thats probably the best best time there is of the accord.... Most of the 6MT accords are in the mid 14's.

 

Most stock AV6 6mt pull mid 14's but with I/E most hit low 14's - high 13's. A lot of people have done this. We have 2 guys stock that have pulled off 14.2's in stock form between 97-99MPH with 2.1 60fts(ill show you timeslips for this if you want). There are 2 guys that I know of that hit 13.9 @101 w/I/E. A guy with intake hits 14.1 and one guy with I/slicks hit 13.9. They are fast!

 

I guess the point is that, whatever you can do in a AV6 6MT, you can do it faster with a TL 6MT, not by much though, as we all know the TL makes more power but also weighs more. I am sure like what you've said, there are stock AV6's that can pull 14.2's in stock form, but I'd say with a TL 6MT you can pull that too if not better (C&D got 14.2 so I won't be surprised that there are people who can do better!).
