Nice drivin' type-s09!

I doubt the Type S would be significantly faster. Real world numbers don't appear to be showing that. It kinda reminds me of the "240hp" Accord 3.0s outrunning the 2nd gen TL-S (which I also own, in addition to the '06 6mt).

HAHAH I love it, nicely done on the 06 Mustang. My G2 TL-S smokes lightly modded Stangs from the late 80's, and the most up to date one I ran as a 00 GT.

I believe better motor mounts help out with the wheel hop..For example the Innovative Motor Mounts... I don't think anyone has made something like the H-brace yet, which helps out with wheel hop as well...

its ok you can put your motortrend down now...
this isnt the only one ive outrun..1 auto, 2 manuals...the other was a 06 Stage 1 Roush my friend owns...his best run is also a 13.9...
right because 06 GT mustangs can't run 13.5's... Want me to post youtube video of them doing it?

13.31 @ 106 /w only a CAI otherwise 100% stock.

Get over it dude, TL's aren't that fast, but quick for what they are. I can't count how many cars have over 270hp now (300 for that matter). With minor bolt ons/tweaks and a tune the Mustang GT can run in the 12's. This guy below was also smart enough to disconnect the sway bar and run the right tire pressure.

And wow you beat a driver! Not the car, I'm impressed! Not everyone can drag race and run good times. I've seen Z06's not break into the 12's. Doesn't mean the car can't do it.

Next you'll tell me you take g37's all the time too.. And GT350/500 Mustangs. Which I don't doubt is possible street racing. But given equal drivers...

OT there's also a 9 second GT500 on youtube that's nuts.

Hey I beat a C5 corvette in my CL type-s; but I don't run around like an idiot thinking my car is faster... I just know he couldn't drive it.

Don't be so hard on him man, he's a great driver and it's not his fault other people with "faster" cars suck at driving. Thats part of the race. He doesn't seem to have a huge ego about it either, just sharing his times and races. Not many people do that on here.

Keep up the good work and be sure to post more vids.

No doubt he's a great driver. Those are great times he ran.

I hear ya, I was just poking at him for his Mustang comments.

Most people don't go out hot rodding the CL/TL's mostly because they aren't designed for it. Even with forced induction they suck for traction without driving around looking like a clown with 10" wide slicks on the front. I can remember a few guys with 400WHP setups and they always said 1st and 2nd gear was worthless. So not to say it isn't cool to do; it's just the TL/CL platforms aren't designed for it. The mustang on the other hand...

...is a porky underpowered coupe with a stubby transmission.

But it's RWD and that's the only thing tuners and drag racers care about.

I feel it is a feat if a TL w/ 240 hp and FWD beats a Mustang w/ 300hp and RWD, no matter how stock the mustan and how crappy the driver is

i totally agree...lets look at the displacement/power ratio too...its a v8 2 door with no luxury features to speak of...when a 3.2 sedan with heated seats, bluetooth, driver/passenger power seats, 5.1 digital surround dvd-audio system and hella better looking car...the only thing a mustang gt has over the TL is rwd...yes i am logically byast to an acura...if i do see the tailights of a mustang i will be doing it in a moving oasis...o and theres such things as reliability and lastingness of a car...
05 TL new -$33k
05 TL used with 25k miles-$28k
05 mustang new $30k
05 mustand used 25k miles $18k..
gah thats an investment for ya..
moms expedition wiht the 4.6 shot spark plug out of the head at 85k miles...thats a dependable one for ya!
this wasnt directed at anyone in specific just the cons of buying a ford...lol

Even though my TL is a bit of a rattle box POS. I agree with ya. Although GM and Ford are making waves with their new products.

I think most the reason the Mustang loses it's value is because it's a 2 door. My CL-S also dropped like a brick in value long before it was even discontinued... I think 4 door sedans have a bigger market share and hold their values better. My TL seems to hold it's value a lot better.

I agree with you on that as well. The TL/CL is an entry level luxury car not really meant for any type of racing. It's just funny to see some of them beating cars that were meant for it. lol

I think Mustangs need to be highly modified to be good at what they were designed to do. Althougth the newer ones seem better.

Id rather give up the raw performance for a balance of everything the TL/CL offers. Guess thats why we are all on here. lol
