a few random questions after fix

I just got my car back from the body shop today and they did a great job

Finish Line collision in valley stream NY ... great body work and service ... saw a lamborghini gallardo going in as i was picking my car up, so it made me feel way better about me taking my car there.

Anyway back to the question part ... since i have gotten the car back, after i complete a turn the steering wheel straightens up pretty fast and hard. Also the steering feels a little stiffer. I dont recall it being this stiff, or the wheel returning straight so fast.

Would a wheel alignment cause these things to happen? Before i went to pick it up, they said they were going to align the wheels and detail it before they gave it back.

Also the car is pulling to the right, is there a possibility they didnt align the wheels correctly?

One more thing .. the trunk seems to be slamming shut everytime i go to close it. It seems like there is no holdback from the arms ... it just closes ...too easily... what could be causing this?

I think the last thing was caused by the accident, and was not picked up on until now ( i was hit the the driver side rear)

Your repairs have what should be a lifetime warranty. First go back to the shop that fixed it and tell them whats up. If they don't satisfy you, get the insurance company involved. No need to yell the first few returns, they know that they can miss things and expect you back.

The problem with the steering is either they didn't do a wheel alignment or they did do the wheel alignment but didn't set it to specs. I would bring the vehicle back and call the insurance adjuster and get him involved, S@!? you paid your deductible make the body shop and the insurance company make you happy.

If they replaced the trunk lid, that may well be the problem. I was rear-ended twice in my previous car (a 1997 Accord) and after the first crash they had to replace the trunk lid (after the second crash the car was declared a total loss). After it was replaced, the lid always slammed shut far more easily than it had before. It probably has to do with them attaching the thing slightly differently.

But I've always thought that the TL trunk lid closes really easily. I just give it a slight tug and it swings right down, whereas my previous cars have needed a bit of a push or even a slam to close the trunk.

about $5000 worth of damage.

Replaced driverside rear door, quarter panel, rim/tire, rocker panel?, front bumper cover, and the armrest in the backseat (it ripped out of between the seat)

For the trunk issue see here.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135626

It isn't normal, they must have reconnected stuff wrong or the accident did damage not resolved. This can be a little tricky as the dealer didn't even know what the issue was. I had to show them.
