It feels so good to be back!!

Well, some of you may remember me...but unfortunatly I was not here for very long.

This is what I used to have...

2006 TL w/Navi

This is what I traded it for...

2011 Xterra Pro-4x (job changed i drive alot more and ended up hating it)

And now I am back with this......HAPPIER THEN EVER!!!

2007 WDP Type-S.

The car has only had one owner, garage kept, 55k, and defines the term MINT! I couldn't be happier, I loved and missed my old TL but this is a totally different car, so much more fun to drive!

Shes definetly a keeper and I look forward to being back on this forum!

Some people dont understand why i went from a 2011 vehicle to this car but obviously these are people who have never driven a 3G TL

Welcome back, Redsand.

But wait...why does your Type S have a Base TL nose on it?

I dont know, I wondered the same thing. But the car is legit. No accidents, and everything matches up. Its definitely a Type-S though. The price was too good to ask questions. And to be honest, I dont mind it lol. I prefer the way the fog light openings slant inward rather then outward.

If you bought it from a dealership, I would definitely ask about it.

It was a trade at a BMW dealership, so I doubt they would even know what I am talking about. I have to call the salesman in the morning about something completely un-related anyway so it cant hurt to ask.

Be sure to ask him. They might not even realize that the bumper is a Base TL's. Maybe they can shed some light on what happened to the car. It might shed some light on the background of the vehicle.

Good point. I will see what they say. Despite the carfax being clean, closely inspecting the entire car from top to bottom before I signed any papers showed no signs of any bad history. And I am very, very cautious of that before purchasing a car.

Either way, I can live with it. It is barely noticeable to me.

I was thinking that they might be able to give you the name and phone number of the previous owner. Many times, a Carfax doesn't tell the entire story.

Well, at this point I think I would rather let it go and just never know the answer. If i were to find out something I dont wanna hear it would put a dark cloud over this thing and I dont wanna have to think about that lol.

Its a nice car, it is what it is and I am just going to enjoy it

thanks all for the warm welcome! Not a fan of the bulky 07-08 a-spec lip so this car makes it pretty easy to slap the non-type-s a-spec lip on!

I asked the dealer about the bumper this morning. Im looking forward to a call back out of curiosity. I cant imagine the truth behind it being too shady, I bought the car in princeton and the previous owner traded it for a brand new 7 series lol.

With that being said, where is the best place to source out a base A-spec lip? I see a seller on ebay with them color matched for $260. Before I get screwed I want to see if there are any other vendor options...

To answer your question, ask AckTL05 about the A-Spec lip. Not sure if there is a GB going on, but if there is, you can get it for a good price.

yeah, the bumper doesn't really concern me too much as hood has the original vin plate therefor whatever reason the type-s bumper is not there could not have been too serious. plus, im just gonna either replace it with the correct bumper or make the a-spec lip fit. havent decided yet

Heres a fresh iphone driveway shot...I have never gotten so many compliments on a car in such a short time

OP has a base bumper

[/QUOTE]

Here is a Type S bumper should look like. Hint take a good look at the fog light and the curve!

Most likely the bumper was damage during the accident then they replace it with a base bumper instead.
