Feeling sick about your scratched TL?-Read this
Sept. 28th--Remnants of hurricane come through my area. Driving home from work after dark on winding, country road, come around a bend and run into a lake in the middle of the road. Would have made it across lake, but car in front of me stops. Found out later that TL has low air intake. Sit in amphibious vehicle for 1.5 hours until friend comes to push me to side of road. Water level is about 1 inch in car but seat motors still working. Also found out that front tow hook can snap clean off when used.
Sept. 29th--return to lake which has now receded-car is missing. Call police-towed to gas station overnight. Gas station innaccessable due to flooding.
Sept. 30th--mid-day--Gas station tows car to Acura dealer in nearby town.
Receive call at office around 1:30 p.m.-Ray from Acura-your car was just towed here, but there was a problem getting it off the flatbed. The cable came undone from the car, the car rolled off the flatbed, down a hill and hit the motel next door. Front end smashed, both airbags deployed. Motel room airconditioner pushed into room.
Oct. 7--car finally gets towed to Acura collision center after two insurance companies (mine for the flood, tow co. for the collision) decide that the car is fixable , not totaled.
[IMG]Nov. 27th--as of this writing I am supposed to get the car back this week in mint condition. I actually have forgotten what my TL looks like it's been so long. Will follow up after I get it back...

I don't mean to offend, but that is one of the funniest stories I have heard in a long time.
I hope you do get your TL back in the best of condition. This is just one of those stories that you have to keep with you because if you aren't laughing about it now, you will some day.
Good luck and post some before and after pics if you have them.

No offense taken. Actually, after the initial shock of it all, I put things in perspective (no one got hurt) and am able to appreciate the humor in the situation. The best thing is that before the whole incident, there was a spot in the passenger side carpet that I just couldn't seem to get rid of totally. Well, that's getting taken care of. Will post pictures in a few days.

Dang... that sucks. I wonder why the metal hook came right off - water damage in the areas surrounding where the hook is? You'd think that's supposed to be welded directly to the subframe of the vehicle.

Call from Acura collision center today (my local dealer doesn't have a body shop). Car is done but when they were loading it on the truck to bring it back... (at this point I am bracing to hear that it fell off the truck) ...the check engine light came on. Off the truck it came, to be diagnosed. During the time that my car has been in the shop, my office manager's husband has had two separate collisions, both of which have been repaired and the car returned to him. Sigh.

Your car sounds cursed or maybe God is just playing a cruel joke on you.
Definitely have a priest bless it or something before you drive it again.
Better yet, sell it and get another one that's not cursed.
