Feature you won't give up

For many of us, we made a big step up when we purchased or 3G TL's.

What feature have you come to appreciate on your TL you can no longer live without? A must have when considering future cars?

I got addicted to XM and memory seats in my truck last year, and no car was considered that didn't offer them both.

I think now I am going to add BT and Nav to the must have list.

Well I had NAV on my last car, so that was a must have this time too. But the addition of voice is a nice plus on the TL. The only other feature that the TL has that my old car didn't is BT and I don't have a compatable phone yet.

My old car not only had the memory seats, but they also immediately went all the way back when you turned the car off to make it easier to get in and out. That's a great feature, unless you're like me and already have the seat all the way back to start with.

One feature I'm already missing is the heated steering wheel. I think that will be a feature I insist on having on my next car.

I suspect that once I get a BT phone that will fall into the must have category. I also suspect XM will make it to the list too.

I could probably do without a lot of the electronic wizardry on the TL, but the one thing I must have on my next car is the "set-it-and-forget-it" automatic climate control system. What a joy not to constantly keep moving levers and dials to remain comfy under changing ambient conditions.

It's hard to pinpoint one thing that makes this car hard to give up. Personally, I feel that it's all of the little pieces and features of this car that makes me like it so much.

I could give up any of the electronic gizmos if I had to.

I definitely vote for XM and the NAVI. These 2 features really make the driving experience much more tolerable in city traffic. I don't have a BT phone and I find that I can adjust the temp and the radio alot quicker with the dash and steering wheel controls. This is not to say the voice control is gimmicky or anything. I just prefer the feel and immediate response of good old fashion buttons.

I would trade XM, foglights, dual mode cc, solar sensing and in-door glasses holders for ventilated seats or a combination of power folding side-view mirrors and a power adjustable, heated steering wheel.

We had Navi in our 2000 TL but the new Navi is a little better and the voice integration is nice. I added XM radio to my prior car, and I can't live without it. The TL is my first car with memory seats and I love them. Mostly because I'm pretty tall. Whenever I valet park, it used to be a hassle to get everything back. Now, it's a breeze.

I would trade solar sensing, the sunglasses holder location, the speed shift transmission, and the seat belt reminder warnings for a rear seat that folds down to haul large items.
