2 more pics of it there, really does look more like 2 cars the way it split open. Guess I'll keep my stability control on. I know these cars are safe, but I did crash doing something stupid when I was 18 in an old body on frame Caprice, triple digit speed, walked out, the car didn't split in 2. I wonder how fast they were going.
They just updated the story that 5 people were in the car, didn't people used to complain on here that the handling was worse with the rear full? I saw some old threads saying the car got squirley with passengers in the back.

I believe the harshest reality is for the parents, especially when they have to bury their child. It's kind of like that age of saying, "a parent isn't supposed to bury their child."
OMG what a terrible crash, the forces involved were tremendous. Roof totally ripped open and not a scratch on the tree? What can be said after all is said and done. RIP that's all. Sad.
Drive carefully and consciously everyone, don't take life for granted.
Wow thats the area where I live. Very sad to see this. There are not that many places you can go fast around here. That doesnt look like any of the places people drag race to me. I dont think anyone with a car full of people is drag racing, rather just going far too fast for no reason trying to impress that young girl. Now she is dead.
People really do drive like assholes around here. They are very much full of themselves and believe they deserve to be first all the time. People die too often from this. Sounds to me like they were given access to a car with more power than they had experience for. Being in high school personally I did not have the composure and responsibility to drive a vehicle with 250 hp.
If this was a "drag" racing case, its imperative that we do what we can to let the younger generation know how deadly it can be. Want to race? Do it on a closed circuit. Don't be an amateur kid trying to show off and end up killing others.
May their souls rest in peace and God forgive the driver involved.

I can confirm this. Last winter i bought my TL with 4 summer tires, 2 in the back seat, 2 in the trunk, and a different set of lowering suspension as well as tl-s lights in there as well.
There was also a snow storm, icy roads and i had to drive almost 3 hours back home. The handling was a nightmare.. my tail end was dancing back and forth the whole time. Added weight in the back of this car is very noticable.
Now you know why insurance rates are up into the outer stratosphere for drivers under the age of 25. These kids thought they were infallible. What a tragedy. RIP
