Fair DEALER charge to install A spec body kit?

I"m negotiating for the purchase of a TL-S and want to buy the underbody spoiler kit and work the price/installation into my sales price.

I've got dealers offerign to sell me the kit for around $850 - which is about what I would pay retail + shipping if I just bought it myself off EBAY. at least the cheapest i've seen it is $780 + shipping.

ONe dealer was saying about $500 install. Another guy here just got his installed for $300, but he also paid about $1000 in parts, not $855.

what kind of labor charge is REALLY involved to a dealer in getting this kit installed??

can'tg they honestly just charge me parts and WRITE OFF The labor?
they all whine that they have to "pay service" but it's all in house. why can't they just have their guy install it...are the service tech / mechanics paid by the piece or do they get paid by the hour to be there whethere they are working/repairing or not?

if they REALLY do have to pay their mechanic guy to do the work - how many hours are they REALLY gonna have to pay him?

for a guy who has done it before, i bet 2-3 hours

If it was me in that situation, I would flex my muscle as a customer and demand them to let me install the kit myself or I wont be a customer to them...simple as that. the Aspec body kit isnt that hard to install from what I hear. But if your affraid to work on your car like that...you can get with some member of Azine that live in your area to help you with the install.

"FAIR" and "dealer" are like "oil" and "water"

my dealer said $360 full install. When you think about it... they don't need parts because they are supplied in the kit, but I would still think the labor would be a couple hours, but then again maybe it could take them 30 min cus they have full car lifts and all the tools ready and have experience putting the kits on

i just had one of the techs at my dealer install mine on my tsx..took like alittle over an hour..really not that hard, just easier with a second set of hands to line stuff up. i gave him 100 since he always helps my with my car.. the dealer charge is rediculous, do it yourself with some help from someone on here..

I live in Temecula - 40 min north of San Diego. Anyone near here?

I'll supply the beer.
