tap into the parking lights.. the reason why you have three wires is because the parking light is also the turn signal..

Not sure which colors are which, but you should tap into 2 of the wires of the parking light. There should be 3 wires:
- Ground
- Power - For when parking lights are turned on
- Power - For when the turn signal is activated

I am assuming you want the leds to turn on when the parking lights are on. Connect the ground wire of your led to the ground wire of the parking light. This should be fairly easy to figure out.. The LED ground wire should be black. The parking light should be black or any other normal ground wire color. Now you are going to have to connect the power wire from your LED light to one of the power wires.. just connect to one of the 2 power wires and you will see which power wire you need to splice it into. This is a trial and error method. But, I am telling you this way because it sounds like this is the way your friend with the civic si was trying to get it done.. I prefer to do it this way rather then use those add a fuse things in the fuse box..

You may want to get wire connectors like this:

That way you don't have to cut or slice wires. You can get them at Radio Shack.

What about the ones filled with gel like the ones that come with the V-LED resistors?

I prefer splice and solder. I hate all those little things.. If one falls off you gotta figure out which one did..

bzyrice,
I agree...I often think I may want to cut and solder, but then I get lazy.
The Vleds ones are nice...but DAMN they're a pain to put on.

Because they're filled with some kind of goo to keep the moisture out and they get all of your fingers and it makes gripping the tap difficult. It also doesn't slide over the existing wire as easy as the other ones. It's hard to explain.

^ How about just running the hot wire to the fuse box on the driver's side of the engine compartment. I like my LEDs on all the time and I hooked into the Rear Defroster circuit. Buy an add-a-circuit and you'll be good. This way there are no spliced wires and everything is clean. On our Pilot, I tapped the Fog light power to the parking light by just sticking the wire in the connector. This has been problem-free for 4 years even though it's a little ghetto solution.
