Factory tint percent on the car???

I know that tinting goes by percent, so the lower the percent it is, the darker the tint is, or vice versa. I was curious to know if it is true that the factory windows were already tinted? If so, how many percent is the tint on the factory windows? Anyone know where to find this information, please let me know. Thank you!

spicynoodle116 when u said 72, did u meant 72%? If so, doesn't that seems kind of too dark for factory tint?

that means the glass allows 72% of light in. 35% is the legal limit in most states without major cities...

Factory glass is around 70 - 75 (percent).

Look in the 3G Garage - there is a good discussion on this very topic.

AJ already answered your question: High number equals high amount of light passes through (OE glass 70 - 75 percent of light passes through). Low number, less light passes through (limo tint = ~5% = 5% of light passes through).

If you want to know the exact number on the factory glass have it measured.

BTW - the factory glass is not tinted with a film the same way after-market tints are. More likely a coating or something in the forming of the glass itself.

every car on this planet thats got regular tempered glass, not tempered and polarized.... has somewhere between 70-75% tint because of the temper process that involved plastic
