Factory tint = tinted glass?

Factory tint = tinted glass?
Hey, so i wanted to get my 05 TL tinted with the same blue as you see in benzos, and i contacted a guy, who said he has some of that blue tint. But then he told me i'd have to get my factory tint removed, except i dont know if its the tint is INSIDE the glass, or whether its just a film. Anyone know? Thankssss.
