Factory alarm

Hi,

My TL just got broken into last night. Smashed my passenger side window and damaged my pillar.

They didn't open the door, so basically my factory alarm is still on and locked. It didn't go off even the window got smashed. Is that normal?

I guess I really need to look into an aftermarket alarm...???

The factory alarm does not have a shock or glass break sensor. The alarm will only be triggered if the doors, trunk, or hood is opened while armed.

The easiest mod to make it better is to wire a shock sensor and a glass sensor to the hood latch of the car! That way if the sensors detect anything, it'll make the car think the hood was opened and thus set off the alarm!

THERE IS 1 BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!

When the alarm goes off the HID's flash rapidly with the other lights in the car and this is the reason why most HID's go out so quickly on the TL after the alarm goes off! I'm not sure who the idiot was at acura who decided to do that.

My alarm went off once and I was really disappointed when I noticed this. At least flash the fogs or something!
