Question Extended Vehicle Coverage

Hi Acuraziners,
just want to see your opinion on this. I got letter from Service Protection Direct to extend my vehicle coverage for six additional years. I called the toll free # and what they gave me was six additional years on top of my factory warranty for $2,742 with $0 deductible. Is it good deal or to stay away from them.

Tim

You can purchase an Acura warranty for cheaper, which would be my preference. I've been quoted $1,400 for a 7 year/100k warranty, $0 deductible. Of course, my car is brand new, it will cost more if your car is older and/or has higher mileage.

yeah...price will go up as it gets older

I negotiated to death when I bought the car, got the standard warranty upgraded to 5year/100k for $1100 additional.

I drive over 20k per year, first year on the car, put 23k....

its only 1 year 3 months old...so I would definitely hit 100k before 5 years, or right about the 5yr mark.
