Euro-style amber side markers & LED rear taillights
Has anybody here ever wondered if they could turn the amber side markers into Euro-style turn signals? With the HUGE blind spots on this car, I think it might be a worthwhile safety mod.
Also, does anybody know if its possible to turn the rear turn signals into LED? More than a year after owning my black beauty 2005 TL, I'm still puzzled as to why Acura went with incandescents here when they put LEDs everywhere else.

I wish the turn signals were LED, too. I like the way they snap on and off as it really draws attention. Also, I wish the rear turn signals were amber and not red. I think they went with incandescent because it's cheaper and it has a wide beam spread so it's clearly visible from a wider range of angles.
I plan on doing the sidemarker mod with a twist. I'm going to brighten them when they're blinking and leave them stock brightness when they're just being markers.

gt1, thanks for the website on the side marker mod. I'll check it out. You make a good point about side marker visibility during the day. But, I guess that's something I'll have to deal with if I do that mod. Acura did side turn signals on the mirrors for the TSX. I just thought it a bid off that they didn't do it on the Acura.
As for LED taillights, I just think they look cooler. Like, whenever I trail an Infiniti FX35, I just sit and marvel at the turn signals.

bluenoise, thanks for the response. I'm not sure that the rear turn signals should have been amber. I think it would have detracted from the clean look. So, I think Acura made the right choice there. Sure ambers would have been more eye catching, but I think red LEDs would have done the job fine.
I'd be interested in hearing about how you do your sidemarker mod when you do it.

My sidemarker plan is going to be my attempt at solving the "too-dim for daylight" issue. The intent is to have them off by day and on at their stock brightness by night when the other lights are on. This will keep them looking stock. My assumption is that the LEDs in there are not being run at full brightness, so I will flash them at full brightness, day or night, with the turn signals. If I find they are, in fact, already as bright as they can be, I'll replace the stock LEDs with some brighter ones or supplement the stock ones with something brighter.
I'll post about my results when I finally get around to doing it.

Sidemarkers
wHEN YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE THEM BLINK AND STAY ON AS MARKERS, i'D BE CURIOUS TO LEARN HOW YOU DO IT. I'M THINKING OF DOING IT AS WELL
