Estimated Cost Of Having A Type S Lip Painted

Hey folks,

I'm extremely torn - Part of me desperately wants quads, but in order to get quads I will have to pick up a Type S A spec lip and have it repainted Abyss Blue Pearl (oh the woes of this damn color).

I'm wondering if anyone has done the same and what I would be looking at cost-wise for the work. Hell if someone wants to talk me out of it and talk me into a regular A-Spec lip ... I still have to get the A-Spec side skirts repainted as well

Paint varies in price so much, it's one of those "you get what you pay for" type of things. Call some local shops and see what their prices go for.

I actually just pulled the trigger on the full base A spec kit - I figured I would rather paint only one part of the kit (the skirts) versus the skirts AND the rear lip.

I have a local body shop that works with my mechanic and comes fairly recommended and they quoted me at about 300$ for the skirts. I'm thinking that in this case this is probably reasonable.

Looking forward to getting everything on at once, I'll say that much - I promised myself that I would do all my mods at once - Suspension, exhaust, jpipe, intake, lip kit and wheels. So its going to be quite the transformation.

I have AM and purchased a Type S bumper and lip. Altogether it came out to 400 dollars and I had to mount the lip to the bumper. This was in San Antonio, Texas.

I paid $500 flat to have my front bumper + ASPEC lip repainted. It was painted the same color but I had it done to better match the car since the lip didn't match the bumper. White Diamond Pearl is probably one of the hardest colors to match and it came out 90% perfect.

Like others said, you get what you pay for but $200 - $400 for the lip sounds about right if you want quality work done.

^even some of the quad exhausts ( to my knowledge ) require the a spec lip to have the exhaust fit. like the atlp exhaust system.

OP I'm in the same boat but since a good friend of mine paints and does some of the best work around town the lip for me will only be 150-200$ and yes this is high quality work.

ask around maybe someone off the forums has a body (paint ) shop and is willing to hook you up with a deal. but good paint alone is going to cost a lot.

I'm picking up the kit next week from Buffalo and will hopefully have the skirts painted by the end of the month - I'll try and keep you guys updated on the outcome cost wise / work wise as I'm sure there are others curious about getting your kit painted, especially now that they're running low in terms of inventory.
