Hey guys quick question I have to change my motor mounts for my 07 Acura TL-S, I need to know how many engine mounts and transmission mounts come with it.

 

There are three engine mounts and I believe 2 transmission mounts.

 

How do you know you need to change your mounts if you are not aware of how many there are?

And if you're upgrade friendly look at the XLR8 mounts.

 

Actually I did buy the XLR8 engine mounts but it looks like its not the right ones for the car when I went to install them.

When I went to put in my XLR8 J-pipe and Exhaust thats when I noticed my engine mounts were bad.

Thanks Gideon, I am looking at them and yes you are right they are 5 all together.

 

They do look a bit different then stock IIRC. I doubt he would have sent the wrong mounts.

Since we are on the topic I'll ask a question, I get some engine rattle (more so when the A/C or heat is on). I purchased the car a little less then a year ago and it still under CPO. I had the dealer ship look at it and they told me the engine mounts were not OEM.

Is this common with this the 07 TL-s (the engine rattle through out the car I mean) ??

 

Thats what Im saying too they look different then the stock and my mechanic looked at them and said these are not the right ones so Im kinda confused and mad at the same time lol my mechanic has been doing this for 20 years so I believe him.

 

No because Ive had my car for a year and a half I never had a rattle sound, I know the mounts are bad on the car and thats normal from what I heard for Acuras. So the problem could be something else you might have a leak or other issue not the motor mounts. Well thats my experience anyway. Hope it helps

how many miles do you have on your car? I'm waiting on my motor mounts to break so I can get them replaced under my extended warranty.. gotta make it count! Maybe my navigation will die, too?!

 

i have a 07 tl-s 6 speed and I'm at 80000 miles and I have the extended warranty and my dealer rallye in NY just changed both my engine mounts and navi system.

 

What are the perks for an auto to get after market mounts? I know its a huge plus for the 6MT people because of wheel hop.

 

Engine and Transmission mounts are covered under the Factory 6-year/70,000 mile warranty - FYI.

 

^^^I though it was 5 years/70,000 miles.

 

Some years were different. '07/'08 was/is 6-year, 70,000 mile Power Train Warranty.
