Engine Bay Cosmetic Mods
Does this belong here? it's consider a "modification" anyways.
I'm extremely interested in making my engine bay look nicer. I've search forums and only found painting the covers. The most interesting one I found was a all carbon fiber engine bay. Well, what do you guys suggest?
Post some pictures, so I can get ideas. I would love to somehow wire up a lights that turn on when i pop the hood.
Thanks for any suggestions and positive feedback.

are you trying to make a Xmas tree? or a Ricemas Tree?
unless you're trying to improve visibility at night when working on the car, any other form of lights is gonna be chalked up to be about as ghetto fab as those LED window washer lights...
now there are tons of other "mods" that can get polishd up to make your engine bay look fly.
yes the CF cover is one of them, can't remember what the part is called but Acuratein and a few other members have it, nice huge stainless steel block over over the main engine head. of course you could get a chrome, black etc etc CAI, other than that, it's just organizing your bay or painting the frame.
please, no lights - you're not some civic ricer, you're in a luxery family sedan, make your high insurance cost for a luxery car worth it

I think you're mis-spelling "LUXURY" but anyways thanks for your opinion. The lights would be to help visibility at night, and IMO I think it would look really clean. Trust me, None of my mods are ever going to be "rice."
Since I've been to a couple HIN's, I see the creativity of colors and cosmetic work done to engine bays and it amazes me. It makes you want to pop your hood and make people have that "WOW" on their face.

didnt mean to step on your toes.
sorry about the spelling, i'm trippin balls here, all nighter.
and yea, i understand the HIN look, alot of the lights at HIN and NOPI dont match up well unless you got the interior ICE as well....
but as personal preference, i think the real WOW factor is when you've got FI and the whine makes everyone that hears it do a double take.

CF Sticker... I actually saw a car with Carbon Fiber Stickers on the hood... It was an Acura too, old one but still... I laughed when I saw it.. But I still want to wrap my CAI in a sticker...

First you could try cleaning it up a bit, that always helps it look better. After that, you could paint some small little things to "mod the motor bay" for example Tein Hood dampers, that light as you suggested, lightweight battery and battery tie-down, the usual oil cap and radiator cap, an aftermarket (accord) strut bar and a few other things.

I am actually thinking about putting my car in one of the HIN shows either in July or Dec.
I hadn't really thought too much about engine cosmetics, I made the mistake of thinking I wasn't going to try and do as much with the TL as I had my TSX, but lo and behold it's already begun.
I plan on keeping the covers in the engine bay, and I honestly think(since I swapped my interior for all red LED's) that some red lights shining out from under the covers on the engine(and my chrome CAI) would look pretty good, nothing too rice. And those would be the only exterior lights(no undercar lights, I got past that phase with my RSX), so it wouldn't be too "over the top"
