Edmonds TMV .... can it be right?
Edmonds TMV .... can it be right?
So I'm noodling around on Edmonds and it shows the TMV for an TL '06 5AT/Navi is $34,782 here in Dallas.
Is it me or does this seem high?
Maybe it's because folks on this board are more savy then the average buyer and show up prepared, but I've been seeing deals on this sight in the $31.5 to $33.5 range.
How is edmonds computing this number?
Heck if I can't get one at or maybe a few points over invoice I'll just use some airline miles and enjoy the road trip home.
Comments?

I the past I've found Edmunds TMV pretty accurate. There are always those situations where people can do better, but they try to take into account the demand for certains cars and the pricing is regional.
I'm trying to buy a 2002 TL with average miles. The dealers don't want to come within $1,000 of the Edmunds used car TMV. I'm in DC. (Actually one agreed to the TMV on the last day of March but the car ran so poorly that I wouldn't buy that one at even $2,000 below Edmunds.) Do you think I should just pay $1,000 over TMV or keep looking around? I've been to four dealers already.
Thanks.
Thanks.
At least in my case, the TMV was high. An '06 6MT w/ Nav shows a TMV of $34,072. The first dealer I spoke with quoted me an initial price of $33,240. After a bit of back and forth I ended up at an even $33,000 from another (closer) dealer.
