Dyno'ing a 5AT

Hey guys,

I going to try to get some baseline numbers before I hook up with RichieV6 and get his Jpipe/test pipe installed this Friday.

My question is... does the operator at the shop perform the pulls?

If he's not familiar with the TL, is there anything I need to tell him? Or will he probably just stay in D and WOT it? Or should he do the L->SS? Also, I'm assuming I don't want him to hit the rev limiter (~6700-7000RPM)?

When I bring the car back in, should I look at getting the same operator, for consistency? I would be doing this in the AM so hopefully the air temperature/humidity will stay (reasonably) the same.

Any and all input would be great.

Jason

We had a dyno day for a group of us, and they seemed to know what they are doing. Dyno's are pretty expensive and precise pieces of equipment for some jerk just to "pull your car onto it and floor it". They will get it right - don't worry.

^ Awesome. Thanks for the input.

I've heard good things from the shop I'm going to from my Subaru friend.

Looking forward to posting some before and after's.

put it in ss... shift regular from 1 -> 2, shift regular from 2 -> 3 and once there is that slight rpm drop from when the tranny goes in 3rd... till the redline... let off after in bangs slightly

thats correct- just make sure they know you have SS mode, and they will do it in 2nd and 3rd
Operators are well trained and do this all day long
The TL is NOT the only car with this type transmission
