DYNO'ed !! VERY HAPPY!! 08 TL-S 5AT

So, back in July, I dyno'ed BLACKURA, i wasnt too happy....my results were

227whp, and like 198tq

BLACKURA had
Comptech Catback
E-Shift Pro-Cats
UR Ultra SC Pulley
AEM CAI
Outlaw Engineering TB/IM spacers

UA7 has
ATLP Catback
UR Ultra SC Pulley
AEM CAI
P2R TB Spacer
Outlaw IM spacers

She put down 261 whp & 238 tq

I will scan the sheet later. We did some 3rd & 4th gear pulls. 3rd pull had the higher HP, while the 4th gear pull showed the higher TQ... 4th gear, however, cut the car off at 120mph... the rev limiter kicked in or something.. wouldnt let us push it... I also opted out of paying the extra 20$ for A/F ratio... im N/A with OEM cats, so im sure it doesnt matter yet

Figure with ProCats (maybe, considering the recent debate of their deterioration) ATLP J-Pipe & some high octane gas or octane boosters, i will soar into 275+ whp

Im very, very happy with my Dyno results.

NA I think ProCats with J-pipe and exhaust will hurt your numbers...to little back pressure. Either cats or j-pipe should be fine, but not both. I swear I remember seeing this on here before, but I could be off my rocker...I am getting old.

If so, given the problems with the cats, I think I'd go with the j-pipe. In fact, it they can show a gain with the j-pipe on a car with intake and exhaust, I'll probably pick one up.

Good Numbers.

What's your best guess at Stock WHP? ~240 - 245-ish?

just tested it this weekend...

both tests, i reset the MID while the car was already at the speed, so acceleration was not a factor

i got 30 mpg going 60mph for 1 hour straight
i got 25 mpg going 90mph for 2 hours straight

heatsoak... doesnt really "add" horse power, they stop it from being wasted due to high heat in the engine... as does the P2R...

the P2R is a better buy for the TB, but there are no alternatives for the IM

c'mon dude don't believe everything you read here
according to everyone when I first joined the ua7 and ua6 where different, are they NO...

Mike is going to do pre and post jpipe dynos with the procats, I am a thousand % sure that the jpipe that so claimed it lost power had a design flaw somewhere

I will look to see 7 solid hp out of the jpipe

PS. SHEESH YOU SHOULDA ATLEAST PM'D ME I DIDNT DO ANYTHING TODAY

i had the comptech catback on the 06 and the ATLP catback on the 08 both with AEM Cold Air Intake

The Comptech was much civil. the cabin was fairly quiet, and its outside noise was aggressive, yet subtle

the ATLP exhaust is down right bad-ass. Loud, no rasp, no rice, it gurggles, it moans and it screams... 10x better then comptech for the noise outside.. unfortunately, for the inside noise as well... its a tad loud inside the cabin at 2k-3k RPM.... but ill make the sacrifice for the power gains and stylish appeal

hehehe but personally I really like the sound note of the Comptech exhaust......wat's about CAI ? cuz I don't wanna hear my damn engine everytime I rev my motor from the front dash board......I want my car to sound nice but at the sametime I like to keep the noise level as stock from interior...

PS. sorrie for all this noobie questions.

basically. and its still no where near 286whp 258tq. But I am honestly impressed. I was hoping for 250, 261whp just blew me away!! actually, it was 260.9 , but thats 261 to me

I dont think i plan on it, but if comptech does make a blower, tied with a j-pipe and/or hi-flow/pro cats... no reason why this car, especially in a 6MT, isnt capable of reaching 340whp.... the 6MT should be handle that, a 5AT tranny probably wouldnt

and honestly, car feels a little different after the dyno pulls.... like... looser? i guess that happens when you finally put a brand new car to the max.

FYI to all, i've got 7k on it.

Damn i wish mine only had 7000 miles on her. Maybe she'd actually put down some decent numbers.

Awesome stats my friend! Type S for the win.

i would assume, the same setup on a TL-S 6MT would put down close to 280whp...
