Question DVD Navigation

I tried to enter my parents address in the Navi they live in Ocala and Im in Orlando, FL When typing the address in it never could get the correct address it was listing other ones that was a close match but wasnt the correct one. Does this mean the Dvd-Navi just needs to be updated and I have to wait until there is one available?

Yes. If it is a new community it may not be updated.

Many of new places are registered into states everyday. Update of GPS data could never be able to catch up this velocity of growth.

Since this is not Windows, you cannot download update so frequently.

I expect Acura have Data updated once per year. You have to wait.

BTW, don't expect your new/old Data would be always accurate in everything you've tried to search.

If you know a specific address or an error in the database you can let Navtech know and they will eventually update it so I am told.

IMO, I think Acura is not using this company's Data or software.

Page 67 of the navigation manual, left side at top states that errors or missing addresses should be posted on the Navtech site I mentioned.

Thanks for correcting my error.

In the end of 2003, while I went to this link, there was no Acura as the partner. They have done the update now.

Sorry. :smackhead

Has anyone noticed the inaccuracy of the map data? My house is off by like 10 street numbers but it looks right physically on the map. My Nissan nav (murano) is dead on.

Is the nav system worth the cost? How well does it function in voice recognition mode?
