DVD Audio

this is one subject not heard of lately. What's everyones opinions on DVD Audio? I think it sounds great, but the DVD's are hard to find.

on the disc Acura gave with the car, there's a lady singing "What's New" . . . and it really sounds like the singer from the movie Ghost Ship.

Regardless of the ability to play DVD-A's, I think this is one of the best stock stereo systems I've heard and lightyears better than my Saab 9-3 stereo and my previous Eclipse GS-T's stereo.

So, I'm quite pleased with the sound even without the cool DVD audio discs playing.

The woman that's singing "Whats New" is Linda Rondstadt

Actually, DVDEMPIRE.com has the biggest selection I have found.

The stereo in general is good but on their scale of 0-40 (40 being the max volume) it should probably go to about 50 (20% louder). On the highway with windows down you can hear it at 35+ but I wouldn't say I can really "jam" to something as loud as I wish I could.

I have heard the reason the system wasn't designed to go louder is because Elliot Scheiner wanted to design a precision sound system that would accurately reporduce a studio experience. The human ear begins to distort sound at louder decibels and you do not hear certain wavelengths because of the big "roar"

Back when I was younger we were happy with things that went to 11.

I was just in a co-workers's brand new Chrysler 300C (yes, Hemi), and WHOA, it's only CD, but indash 6disc and blows the TL to SHREDS. The clarity, the treble, the purity of the sub. 2 words.. HOLY CRAP. Made my TL sound like the stock system in my 98 Accord.

I love the sound from them. I just wish the selection of DVD Audio albums was a lot bigger.
I bought all the albums I remotely like that were available in DVD Audio, and I still have one slot left in the 6-disc changer.
