Unhappy Dumb Question

I have tried several times to place the gas cap against the gas door with no luck. Anyone know how the gas cap locks so it doesn't hang down?

It does hang down. The speherical thingy get's stuck in between two toungs on the door and hangs the cap down.

Pretty much on the cap door.. there is like a small slot... and the cap it self has like a dangling small ball...
Place the tiny ball in the cap door slot... i think you have to slide it down....
