u can buy the mufflers with dual tips on them.. and have someone weld them to the stock exhaust.. if u r doing that i would also recommend getting some cats deleted..

Tips will not clear the bumper for base model TL's. Need to invest in a Type S Rear Bumper or molding.

You can go the route of the Type-S rear bumper or if you are interested in doing the A-spec kit, you can get the rear under spoiler for the Type-S. It is $247 and is pre-painted. It will require some cutting, but there is a good DIY here on the forums on how to do it. Click Me to see the thread.

As for Muffler options, you can do just a tip mod as some others have done.

Or you can do a Magnflow with custom tips.

Or go with one of the vendor options we have on the forum for duals. Josh with Excelerate Or MrHeelToe who carries the ATLP setups.

Or order the Type-S exhaust setup from the dealer or from someone.

If your looking for the stock TL-S exhaust, you might try the Black Market and post up a WTB.

ill be around as well... you wonder why acura hasnt made after market products like quads to fit the 04-06 base models and a front bumper that allows you to install foglights without converting to 07-08 front end or doing alot of fitment and measuring

They did it on purpose so we would have to buy the newer model. It's all marketing.

That said I would like some quads

You won't fit dual tips in the Aspec rear, check out the forums on the ATLP exhausts. Stock Type-S dual tips will not fit either. Your mufflers have single outlets, while TLS mufflers have dual outlets, so it's not just a matter of putting tips on, even if they did fit the aspec rear. You'd have to put on new mufflers with smaller tips (check advice above).

My suggestion is to either go with the ATLP Base exhaust that recently came out, or the XLR8 dual tips (I think they fit the Aspec, check out dragonlord posts here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/xlr8-exhaust-j-pipe-pics-dynos-sound-video-clips-713720/

Dragonlord has the RJ which I think is a copy of the aspec. Ask him, he'd know for sure.

If you're looking for the cheapest, just get the mufflers. If you're looking to do it right with more ponies, I'd go with the ATLP base or XLR8.

Read the forums, send some PM's and you'll get what you're looking for.

It's not all marketing. It's also making sure people can't make their honda look or perfrom like an acura for $50.

I have the full aspec also, I just picked up some atlp quads so I just took off my rear aspec lip, cut my bumper (theres a DIY in the 3g garage) and put on an aspec type s rear lip to cover the cuts. As others have mentioned the quad tips will not fit into the base lip/bumper. You will need to purchase the whole new type-s bumper and lip OR you will need to cut your existing bumper and get the type-s a spec lip.

oh and I would reccomend the atlp quads if you can find some, if not the xlr8 quads are nice. Then there is always the options others mentioned like the type-s exhaust, welding some quad tips on, or you can post a WTB for a quad exhaust in the BM.
