Driver rear door lock not working

Is this a common issue? It hasn't worked since owning the car so I keep it locked but getting tired of using the passenger side door at this point

If it's just a bad motor I'm looking to replace it myself.

it usually the door lock actuator that goes out. I've had the rear driver side go out on my car about 8 years ago on my 04. The passenger side front actuator just went out on my 07.

I see the rear door actuator is way more expensive than the front.

ebay has a few aftermarket ones for under $25, rock auto is more like $60-160, and Acura OEM is $144 on amazon, or $161 from dealer (plus shipping in all cases).

door locks

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the tread but i'm a newb and can start a tread
I have a similar issue albeit intermittent.
The drivers door doesn't always lock and if it doesn't then all the doors
remain open, even though the beep is present letting you know it is locked.
Would this be the driver side door lock actuator going out?
I am correct in assuming that the driver side actuator is the master
control and controls all the other door actuators?

Louis.
