Door panel removal

I tried to remove the driver's side door panel on my TLS today so I could install moleskin but was unable to do so because the screw with the bumper on it would not come out. It just spun. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've never noticed if that rubber stopper comes off if you pry it. Does it? If so, wrap a cloth around a small screwdriver and lift up on the screw as you screw it to make it come towards you (if that's possible). The cloth is to protect your finish/paint.

I think this should work, it's what I used to do to screws like that before.

Those things suck. You have to use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully wedge the rivnut between the door (to stop it from spinning) so you can get the screw out.

I have experienced these stubborn screws on two different TLs. You will need to stop it from spinning in the back somehow. A needle nose plier will help.

I had the same problem i just shoved a flat head screw driver in between the panel and the door right near the screw and pried up a little, while doing this unscrew the screw and it should catch. It worked for me, hope this helps you.

Yup! That's exactly what I would do!

Then epoxy or super glue it in... place...There is no need for it to spin. At least I dont think there is.
