Thanks for that link. Turns out my VIN number falls in that caterogy. I guess I'll be contacting the dealership to have them fix this and also my side mirrors that don't tilt down in reverse.

I have the extended bumper-to-bumper warranty so I should be ok.

^^

You do know that the side mirror only tilts when the selector switch is in the LEFT or RIGHT position, right? If it's centered, no tilt.

(Better you find out here than at the dealer).

Your rear view mirror position switch? Is it pointed to Driver side, passenger side or center? If it's pointed at center, switch it to point at one of the sides, and test again.

lol, yea I'm well aware that it needs to be pointed to one of the sides to work. When I have it to the left or right and put the car in reverse, every once in a while it will work but most of the time it starts to tilt down and then goes back up to normal while the car is still in reverse. Maybe I'll check to see if anything might have gotten stuck behind the mirrors to prevent them from tilting down.

I would rather mod

I would rather mod the door handles and include the smart keyless entry system of the new TL into my TL-S.

After driving a TL SH-AWD for a week, only 4 things I like about it.

New Navigation Screen Resolution and more Navigation functions, and possible to dial phone without voice input.

Smart Keyless Entry/Engine Start

All wheel drive

Suspension, perhaps AWD makes the difference.

The rest, I like 3G TL-S better, more spacious for phone, ipods, and wallets, and shape design looks better.

If you call Tim at Hondacura world and give him the part number, he'll find 'em. Or order from the local dealer - it's an $11 part.

If you go to http://www.kptechnologies.com/produc...Acura&model=TL there's even a mod to have both mirrors drop in reverse. The part # is MT30-D. Thats pretty nice too, cause then you don't have to select which side you need to drop!

I installed mine last week and it looks much cleaner without the hole. Nice simple and cheap mod.

I want to do this mod.... But then I'm afraid one day my battery will die.
OEM battery FTL.....
It's died on me several random times this winter. Thankfully it's alive as when I first bought it a year back...

Use your key to pop off the cover. Open door with key. Re-attach door lock cover.

Hmn. If it's that easy then hell I'm doing the mod for sure now. Hahah..
I thought that once you pop off the cover.. the tabs automatically break off--thus rendering it useless to be put back on.

The salesperson who sold me the car removed a door-cover to show me it can come off... it never got put back on. He was awesome enough to buy me two new door covers, though, as one was missing... and he broke the other.

Too think about it---the original one missing was the passenger side.
Looks like someone knew about the 'door-lock' mod before I purchased my TL =o

Done........took all of about 3 or 4 minutes and only because that darn clip was a bit tough to get out. But finially popped it off. New mod looks sweet. Thanks for this suggestion. Got mine at the dealership. $12.49 including tax and took only 2 days to get.
