DON'T throw away or lose your factory emblems!

Because if you buy new ones they are not the same! 2 years ago I removed the "acura" & "TL S-type" emblems from my trunk. Last week I wanted to put them back on & couldn't find them. My son who works at an acura dealer ordered them & I got them yesterday. They are not the same as the ones which were affixed to the car at the factory. The original emblems have a chrome type finish & shiny. These do not and have a dull brushed aluminum finish. Not a big deal, just won't look as nice on the car IMO. I guess acura changed it to reduce costs, I'm sure the "chrome" finish costs more to manufacture. The Type S emblem looks fine though.

Brushed aluminum sounds nice, actually... but I've never been a fan of chrome.

+1 I think the brushed aluminum look would look a lot better than polished plastic.

OK, Thanks.

I dont like emblems either, but when I sold my 07 Type-S in the summer of 2007 I put them back on with 3M 2-sided tape.

I always keep car parts so I can put them on again if needed.

Have a great Day

God Bless

Hmmm...that's odd. I have all of my factory emblems still on the car, but I ordered some new ones because I put some extras in the engine bay area. They were the exact same.

I bought mine through acuraoemparts.com

Only way this is important is for resale. If I was a potential buyer and I seen badges that were "off", I'd automatically assume it was in an accident.

The 2G Type S and the RSX Type S share the same emblem, chrome:
75731-S3M-A10-Genuine Acura chrome type-S emblem for rear of 2002-03 TL or 2002-05 RSX. Does not include TL emblem: Item#75722-S0K-A00 nor RSX emblem: Item#75722-S6M-A01. Original chrome and perfect OEM-fit.

OP, have the part number?

I would give you mine but they went in the trash years ago. I agree with turbo_oxide though, brushed aluminum sounds way nicer than plastichrome.

The guy at the local dealer parts desk is a really nice guy; very helpful and freindly. But I swear he couldn't find his own ass with a map and a flashlight; watching him search for parts on the computer is painful.

I ALWAYS give him the part numbers I want, not the other way around.

Same with me, I always supply the parts guy with my part numbers (at my local Honda dealer because Acura dealer is 45 mins away).

I guess in my case I am forced to provide them the part numbers since they (Honda) can't pull up part diagrams for Acuras.

I just reread what I posted and I said "human error not Acura's" lol
Acura is formed by humans, so I should say "son's error, not Acura's"
And by acura's error I mean it's not like they changed the emblem.

Did I mention that upon a closer look it's evident the cloudy plastic packaging was at fault! Upon opening the bags & removing the emblems they are shiny with a chrome type finish! SORRY!! My mistake! Now I'm praying for the sh&* about to come. lol
