Don't listen for Rattles or Squeaks!!!
Here I am coming up on 5000 miles after only 2 and a half months and I am reading all these complaints about noises, rattles and vibrations. So just for kicks I decide to drive to work without the music! So there I am cruising down the I5 at about 80mph, thinking to myself well I can’t hear a single squeak from this car, I mean it was as quiet and smooth as the day I drove it off the lot. Just as I was reveling in my fortune of having obtained an Acura TL 04 without a passenger compartment noise, a large long piece of metal kicked up from the car in front of me!!! No time to brake or swerve I hit it full on, it took out the front bumper, Passenger tire, passenger rim and everything in the wheel arch than was not solid metal. Now despite my obvious trauma of having my new baby damaged I really want to stress how well she performed with a sudden tire deflation on the front. Mt front passenger tire was shredded instantly and to tell the truth it took me a while to realize I even had a flat. At 80mph she drove straight and true and I was able to drive across 4 lanes to the shoulder with no problems at all. So remember the next time you are bitchin about rattles and squeaks in the cab, worse things can happen when you turn the stereo down to listen for them. I am now 2 weeks without my baby just because I was listening for a noise she was not making!!

Sorry Mr. "my 1st acura", I would have to concur with MXTT...
Rattles?!
I have to agree with "My 1st Acura". We have an 04 TL with about 6500 miles on it and nothing rattles that we have noticed. It amazes me the number of people who are buying these cars and immediately trying to find things to worry and complain about. Like the guy who buys a car that is advertised as a "Sport Sedan" and then bitches about the supposed "rough ride". Just want to spend alot of time talking to and visiting their service departments I guess. Drive and enjoy!!
I didn't get the impression he was trying to mitigate the rattle issue. Maybe the point was dont gloat about it cause bad shit happens. Or maybe the point was how well the car handled in a 80 mile an hour tire deflation. Perhaps the point was pay attention to where your going.
Regardless, I didn't see in his post "All of you complaining of rattles are whining about nothing." My view? I saw his post as saying "If its not broke, don't look for a problem."
