Does your TL rattle too? or is it just mine?

I own a 2006 TL with 37k miles. Since day one almost everything in this car has rattled. Even the rear view mirror just started rattling!! I have fixed both front doors (twice) middle counsel, driver side dash above odometer, right mirror, rear panel where the subwoofer is, subwoofer, from left door speaker and NOW the rear view mirror?!

Are you guys having problems like these as well?

I think my shocks are too stiff, I have had 06, 07 and 08 loaners and none feel like my car, it goes over bumbs and street imperfections with too much rattle. Those who ride in the car with me experience something like a seasickness after an hour and I am a smooth driver.

I just put my music up.

And I dont want acura to fix them because more issues usually pop up as they try to "find" the problem..

lmao, so true. I hate dealers "mechanics". I've met very few who are actually competent in what they are doing.

Anyways, my TL has a pretty bad case of the rattles too. Right now the most annoying one is in my gauge cluster (or behind it). It sounds like some metal clanking sound. My driver side door squeaks a bit and there's another rattle around the glove box. The entire car just seems to creak too... bah.

edit: mine didn't rattle right away...

Never owned a Base TL, but it's my assumption that since the factory suspension of the TLS is stiffer, it's even more prone to rattles.

Mine is no exception. Thank goodness the audio system counters it well enough, since I almost never drive without it on.

I hear some really strange rattles on occasion too...like when my sunroof is in the VENT (up in the rear) position, I get dash rattles that I never get otherwise. Cold weather seems to bring on more rattles than I get in warmer weather, which makes sense since heat expands all the plastics and makes things tighter.

As others have stated, I'm reluctant to have the dealer try to remedy these things since they tend to generate new issues when trying to fix rattles.

I took mine (08 TLS) in for rattle fixes within the first 2 months I owned it. Since then, it's been to the dealer a couple of more times to fix the moonroof rattle and a subwoofer rattle. I also have the front window rattle when they are partially opened.
It is a little dispointing that the car rattles so much given the market that they are after but nontheless, it is much better then my old camaro

this sucks. new cars rattling so much?

my MDX doesn't rattle.

at least they give you loaners at Acura. my last car was a volvo and they would not give loaners. a buddy with a BMW X5 gets a ford focus as a loaner....

Well they're assembled in the states so that's why they probably rattle like crazy.

The vanity mirror rattle is easy to fix. Get some very small stick-on felt discs at Lowe's or Home Depot and put one on each lower corner of the mirror. Easy and cheap.

Mine has a few rattles, but they come and go, sometimes I can drive for hours without hearing any. Also they always seem to be in a different spot. WHen I test drove my car before I bought it, I specifically listened for rattles and there were none.

I would recommend AGAINST taking your car to the dealer to fix rattling, this is something that is usually very difficult to localize and fidn the cause of, and even if they manage to fix it, it will probably come back. And it's likely they will break/damage something else, I've seen it happen.

wow r u guys ok??? ALL CARS RATTLE!!!!!!!! ITS A CAR !!!! EVEN BENTLEYS RATTLE! turn the music down in any car and drive around all day and night with no music and you'll be able to pick rattles out from nowhere. some car manufacturers cut corners by using less dampening materials...OH WELL!...but it doesnt make the quality of the car any worse or better.

seriously guys, most cars rattle, if not all. It is the nature of the beast. not shocking considering the constant vibration cars endure. Could you guys be more anal?
