Cool Does you 3rd gen TL do this?

With the MID in the temp mode. Hold down the reset/select button till you see the temp displayed?
If you do an hold it a little longer. You will ether increment or decrement the temp readout. I did this quite by mistake one day. I would think that this would reset the calibration on the temp. sensor. Anyone have any input here???

Or---------------------------

Try this.......
With the wipers in intermittent mode. Pull you parking brake to the on position. Please be in full stop first!! Then while the wipers are between work cycle. Release the parking brake all the way till you hear it hit it's stop point. Do your wiper's go off? Mine do. Every time!! So I can change the wait cycle time to whenever I want. Without touching the wiper control. But not change the wait time setting on the wiper control. Does this make sense to you? I mean the way I wrote this thread? I hope so. If not please respond!! Or just post for the heck of it...

Yes & Yes(?).

The Temp thing is for the calibration, and I *think* you can adjust it +5 degrees to -5 degrees.

Not sure about the parking brake thing - not sure what you mean by adjusting the cycle time whenever you want. I mean it doesn't actually *change* the cycle time does it? It's just a one time thing, right? And, you can't really change it *any* time you want, because you don't want to be pulling the parking brake whenever you want the wipers to wipe. :lol:

Anyhow, I think that might be related to this feature:

When the wipers are in intermitent mode and you are at a stop, when you release the brake, the wipers will make a sweep. This is regardless of the time setting on the intermitent mode.

Spiritman, thanks for the info. Now, I mean no offense, but......how long did it take you to figure this stuff out! I mean, did you sit in your car and push buttons until something happened?

Kinda reminds me of secrets for video games!

btw, i will try these out when I get home!!

My 2G does both of those. Also with the wipers you can put them in intermittent mode and they slow down at the stop light. They will go back to the regular speed once you speed up or do one wipe if you take your foot of the break. It was to be on intermittent and on the fastest speed for that to work.

Now, if someone can just find a way to change the MID to kilometres for trips to Canada and to degrees Celsius for those of us who think the Fahrenheit scale is utterly nonsensical.....!

I guess I better re-read the owner's manual in regards to the outside temperature calibration. I must have missed it. Great tip, tho! Mine seems to be off by a couple degrees as well.

Ok... I can't get the temperature calibration feature to work on my '04. Maybe this is something that only later Gen-3 cars can do? All I'm doing is zeroing out my tripmeter.

Or why not remember the conversions and do it all in your head while you drive? =p

*F=(9/5)(*C+32)
*C=(5/9)(*F-32)

Miles=(Km)/(1.61)
Km=(1.61)(Miles)

nm... One must hold the "Select" button for ten seconds. Then you can adjust the temperature 3 degrees either way. I'm not sure if that's enough, as I believe I'm pushing a six degree error above the actual temperature. I'll see in the AM.

My 3G does this with the wiping when on intermittent. I thought it was some crazy wiring or something, but later read in the manual that it's meant to do that. I think the term they used was speed-variable or something like that.

Yeh, or just use the Navi calculator to do it. But it makes no sense with a digital odometer that you can't hit a button and change the display.
