Does this sound right?

So I recently had all brakes done @ my local Honda dealer. I also told them to align my car. They told me that the alignment couldn't be done because the rear cam bolts are rusted and seized. My front specs look good, but the back is way off. At any rate, they said that the repair requires new rear toe bars ($548). Then they can align my TL.

I know nothing about cam bolts or toe bars, but is that the only solution? Couldn't the bolts be heated and broken/cut out?

I'm not sure. I took my car to an alignment shop and they told me the TL needs a camber kit installed to get the rear to spec. I would take your car to an alignment shop and get a second opinion- the estimate seems pretty high.

You do need rear arms but like it was said you should buy the adjustable ones on ebay, they are way cheaper!

So I went to Hires for a second opinion. They said that one of the cam bolts is adjustable and fine. The other is rusted and will be damaged when removed. They called my local Acura dealer and got a bolt ($8). They will charge me an hours labor for replacing the bolt and $59.95 for the alignment. I will be out the door for $170.

And we wonder why people always say "stealership."

I'm glad you didn't fall for the stealership. Just remember that all they want to do is to pull down your panties and molest you.
