Does the MID ever read anything other than A1?

I wasn't sure how to search for this as I am sure it has probably been posted before:

Now, I know A1 is not the only code that is displayed in the MID, but I have 23,000 miles on my 2005TL MT and yet again I get an A1 code in the MID. I haven't had anything but A1's since I purchased it brand new in Nov. 2004.

Any input you guys could give would be great! Thanks so much!

Yes...theres more than just the A1 code...Theyre are 2 main codes A and B. A standing for just an Oil change...B standing for Oil AND FILTER change. They're are 5 sub codes..1-5. You will never see 2 Main codes in the same Message...A1 i believe is the oil change and tire rotation. your owners manual should tell you the rest...i think 5 is coolant changing. and thats why u only see either A1 or B1......BRAKE FLUID SERVICE IS EVERY 3 YEARS. Your Maint. Minder will not tell you when to change the brake fluid

I think the reason why you are only getting the A1 in your MID is because you have pretty low miles. If you follow the MID and get everything done that it tells you to get done, your lucky...cause some of the other services cost more than $200

Okay, I was just getting a little concerned that it might not be functioning correctly. I was thinking that it should have read something differently by now.

Thanks guys!

Technically, at 23k I think you should have atleast see the other codes, like B1 etc., I first got A1 ~6k, then B1 ~12k..not sure but might want to check out w/ dealer.

Interesting omnuts,

What the consensus around here? Has anyone else gone 23,000 with only A1 codes?

Thanks!

Does anyone just have the dealer do oil change and filter and tire rotation when it reads A1 instead of the full blown service. It seems to me the "scheduled maintainance" is very bloated when it comes to the price that the dealer charges.

Thoughts/opinions/experiences?

All I have them do is the oil each time my service is due. I have winter/summer tires so I rotate on my own anyway. And I just can't be sold on all the other fluff they offer for such a new car. Down the road it may be a different story.

I just hit 30k miles, and got an A12 service message. I looked in the ownsers manual, and it calls for replacing engine/cabin air filter, so I'll do those myself as well.

I agree with omnuts. I have had the A1 and B1, just oil change and then oil change and tire rotation. I have done them myself but just finished the B1, I have 8500 miles on the car.

This is interesting...

So it sounds like the codes in my MID are not functioning correctly since I've made it to 22,000 with only A1's.

I would like to get the input of a few other people. Anyone else only have A1's all the way to 22,000???

Thanks so much to everyone who has taken the time to respond so far...you guys are great!

I got an 05 TL and i got about amlost 12k on it and the A1 service came up again too.

I was expecting something else this time, but A1 is fine with me.
