does color have a bearing on the price?

No. If they have 20 Reds on the lot, they obviously would probably make you a deal to unload a Red, but price is the price, is the price. Do not let some dopey dealer tell you or treat you otherwise.

TBone2004 put it nicely. When I went to purchase my TLS, I wanted black at first but they had 20 silvers. To a certain degree I understand they want to get rid of the inventory they have. But I was like dude, I don't want silver I want black, he was willing to come off of the price almost $500. Then I saw an ABP pulling in for service and said that is the color I want. Then he got irratated and said those were hard to come by. Needless to say, I called two others dealers and one was willing to shop around for it found one for me.

In 2000 some dealers were getting extra for White Diamond and Laguna Green because only 3% of all TL's were built in those colors. However, the color production has pretty much evened out across the board and I would never pay extra just for a particular color today. Don't let them try to tell you otherwise. Go to another dealer if you have to.
