Does anybody have an alcantara steering wheel cover?

Michigan winters are cold as hell and i was wondering if anybody knew where to get an alcantara/suede steering wheel cover...something with a good squishy feel

there was a guy on the jeep srt8 forums that had it custom done at an upholstry shop:

possible for the TL?

I can't imagine that would last. Alcantara is rich in quality but it's still not real suede. I would expect it to wear out pretty fast.

Don't just get a cover, have it done custom. It'll hold up better and look way better.

do you want this as a permanent solution or something that can be taken on and off? If permanent, get an upholstery shop to get your the alcantra used specifically for the wheel, like on the new CTS-V. In you want something removable, check your local auto store...

I've always wanted to do this, mainly to make the steering wheel thicker. Any Automotive Upholstery can do it?

I asked a upholstery shop for a quote yesterday. This is what I got for the reply.
"Yes, we can do a steering wheel wrap in whatever material you would
like. The labor will be $680, & then whatever the material's cost. We
have plenty of materials in our showroom to choose from. Stop by at any
time!"

I was like... uh. Are they freaking serious about over 700 bucks for a couple hours of work?

It has to be hand stitched, so it takes a bit longer than 2 hours to do.

Its not a simple thing like a headliner.

Don't alcantara/suede tend to absorb grease and sweats thus making it harder to clean vs. leather surface
