Does any1 else have this issue.....

I just got the 07 TL (auto) just about a month ago and I notice that when I take my foot off the gas and as the car slows down to almost a complete stop. There is a very very slight jerk...feels as if it isn't downshifting properly. Is that just me because I am so used to driving a '00 BMW(5 series) where the transmission is almost flawless? Does any1 lese have the same issue?

I've got an 07 TL also, and I notice a downshift somewhat like a manual transmission would do, but nothing super jerky and nothing like coming to a complete stop. My wife has a 2006 Honda Accord EX and it does the same thing. It's hard to say if you saying that the tranny locks up or if it's just the downshifting that we are all experiencing.

Yeah it occurs on my '06 TL to it justs downshifts pretty rough, but I guess it's because of all that torque.

I've noticed it happening at around 40 mph on mine. I remember people talking about this but I cant think of what it was called, but its completely normal.

I have noticed this too....It may be the VSA? I kinda like feeling that traction....the car is very solid and hugs the road really well.

Nope, not the VSA. Most likely it is the grade logic control that you feel that is slowing the car a bit. Perfectly normal.

It is called engine braking

It is more common in off road vehicles, but what is happening is that the car is using the transmission to assist with slowing the vehicle so there is less work for the brakes.

have an 05- i don't think it's an issue. have it on mine too. i think they call it grade logic. agree with others here.

Is has not relation to VSA. Yes, it is the Grade Logic system, this makes the engine brake or keep a lower gear when going down a grade.

i dont think it is because of the grade logic. i feel the rough downshift even on a flat street surface.
