Nothing to complain about. 15 minutes of work with sandpaper and they would look as new.

 

Make sure you are using a decent socket. Some are designed specifically for chrome plated lug nuts in the hopes of minimizing any cosmetic damage. The one I have is from Advance or AutoZone and is made by Titan.

 

This stuff works great on Chinesium chrome rust, soak for awhile then use aluminum foil buff to not scratch that custom finish.

 

These aftermarket lug nuts (made in China) have very thin chrome plating and they are easily flaking off .

 

And they get rusted again after 30 days or sooner when they get wet through car wash.
