Ding protectors

Don't you hate it how our car doesn't have ding protectors when most other cars do? The 2G does. Are there any pictures of a 3G TL with ding protectors installed? I'm guessing it would look bad but just in case I want to see.

You mean the side molding? Its an accessory and most people here dont like the look so even if a car comes with some people end up taking them off.

Edit: Found a picture

I'm not a fan of them Babnik. Actually my dealership talked me out of them and I'm glad. They said they break up the lines of the car-now I agree.

Hmmm that pic doesn't look too bad. I still think it looks better without them, but that picture looks ok.

Any idea how much to get them installed? Because I definitely don't trust myself to do it nicely.

I wouldn't mind it if my car came with them but I wouldn't pay extra to have them added. Looks good with them, looks better without. My '91 Legend has some... I think...

btw, do they really work anyway?

I did the deal for my car via email and phone. When I got there they had pulled it from an offsite storage lot and discovered it had the side molding and rear wing spoiler that were not listed on the inventory ticket. I got the accessories thrown in for the price we had agreed on but I'd just as soon have got it without the jewelry.

The dealer price for the moldings only was $160 or $280 complete with install.

Not a car for body side moldings! It ruins the entire flow of th styling. I'm with Steven Bell, my dealer also talked me out them when I purchased the vehicle, a wise choice.

I agree it kind of ruins the lines of the car, however dings look even worse, and some of us live in apartment buildings where we have to share a parking lot with other people many of who do not care about their cars like we do. That's why I'm considering them.

i find most of the time they dont even help. on my integra, there use to be side moldings and my car is still dinged up to the max. not all doors open the same way and same level so the side molding is actually kind of useless unless the doors actually does hit at the side molding level.
