Question dimensions of front storage bin

Does anyone know the dimensions of the front console storage bin underneath the navi screen and cd player? I am buying a TL in the next month and a half and I'm trying to plan a location for a dvd player.
I know some people are using the pyle half din dvd player. The dimensions of it are approximately 6.9" deep x 7" wide x 1.1" high.

Thanks.

I know some people are putting DVD players in a couple of places.... under the passenger seat, in the glovebox and in the drivers side door compartment (map pocket or whatever they call it) I think the location you are talking about may be too short.... the lower pocket has the cig/power outlet so you would have to modify it more than i wqould think you would want to. But, if you can make it work, that would be a sick install.... good luck

I think 7" is too wide, but I can measure mine when I get home from work. It's sitting in my garage.

thanks guys, I appreciate it. I think that the front storage compartment would be the cleanest looking place for a dvd player. i'd prefer to keep my storage space in the glove box and the armrest. and the rear pass through is too far to reach easily.

another question, is the storage bin that i'm talking about removable? or is it a permanent part of the dash? if I'd have to do some cutting, I would like to be able to return to stock.

thanks

Once you get the center console apart, there are six screws that hold the storage pockets to the trim piece around it. You could easily replace it.

The dimensions of the upper (larger) door are 2 3/4" X 5 3/4", so the height would be ok but that is probably the maximum width you could use even if you removed the entire storage compartment, which makes it too narrow for your player.

And it is nowhere near the depth you need. Probably around 3" actual depth in the compartment, but I don't know how much more room is available behind it if the compartment was removed.
