Does someone see thet all plastic parts (ie external mirrors, front and rear bumper have a slight different color than other parts of the car.
Mine is a 2005 silver and the plastic parts look more gold. It's not very easy to see but once you saw it you will ever see it again and again.

I need your feedback on this and if it's happen to you, did you manage to have a good repaint by the dealer ?

It scare me to have it painted by the dealer, because non factory paint will ship easily with stone and hit from over cars.

Personally, unless the mismatch is really really bad, I wouldn't repaint anything.

 

Yup mismatch from bumpers vs metal parts is VERY obvious...

 

Today i checked other cars in street and i notice that most new car have the same problem, specialy clear color. I saw a mercedes CLK pearl white and one silver and i could clearly see the difference between the bumper and the hood

Did you try to see this on other brand of car ?

 

Yeah I have an 04 SSM and have the same problem. The rear bumper does not match the rest of the car at all. It bothered me for a while but after reading comments on this issue I decided to just let it go. Now it doesn't bother me as much. I concentrate on driving the car more than the stupid paint mismatch ..... whats worse is I was looking at other SSMs at the dealership and not one of them had matching bumper and metal paint. Pretty sad for a 35k car. Its generally a concensus that if you try to have it fixed it may just get worse than it is. Your call - good luck!

 

It's much more noticeable on certain colors. SSM and WDP are the worst in my opinion. Black and blue (like mine) are the least obvious. I would be reluctant to let anyone repaint it unless it's really bad. Right now I have much of the paint on my rear bumper (on my other car, not the TL) peeling off after a bad repaint after a minor accident two years ago. That would bother me more than the mismatched paint. Good thing I don't care about that car. I just drive it to work during the week.
